On the incentive effects of high taxation

Wealthy people have been leaving New Jersey at an alarming rate, reports WSJ.com. The trend apparently can be traced to 2004, when New Jersey hiked the top income tax rate on the rich by 40%.

Maryland had the same experience. I believe that it was Walter Wriston who said, "Capital goes where it's wanted, and stays where it's well treated."
