Notes for trust officers, private bankers and others concerned with estate and trust planning, from a Merrill Anderson Senior Editor and his retired mentor.
Sullivan covered a lot o wealth management ground over the years, occasionally including topics applicable to the not so rich.
Back in a 2014 column on trusts, he mistakenly described a CLAT (charitable lead annuity trust) as a CRAT (charitable lead remainder trust). I called his attention to the error, and he thanked me for my mild-mannered comment. His usual experience was,"get one thing wrong and a swarm of t&e attorneys attacks you like a hive of angry bees."
