Tax extenders pass in the House
By a vote of 367 - 45 the House passed and sent to the Senate H.R. 6111, which includes the tax extenders, some energy provisions and Medicare reforms. Of course, we've been here before.

And the Senate passed it at 2 a.m.
Next time we buy a Congress, we voters should insist on a limited warranty. My Senator, Jud Gregg, doesn't often draw my praise, but the Washington Post reports he earned it this morning:
"Chairman Judd Gregg (R-N.H) delivered a blistering condemnation of the decision by Republican leaders to push the unwieldy collection of tax, trade, health and energy measures through Congress as a single package at the last minute, with few opportunities for debate or objection.
"In a speech on the Senate floor, Gregg blasted the package as "arguably the largest budget-buster ever brought forward by the Republican Congress."
I agree with you 100%.
And I'm not confident it will get much better under new leadership, but in fairness, it could hardly get worse.
